Liverpool fans react as Gomez set for new contract

Loads of Liverpool fans have been reacting to some very promising transfer news, as Joe Gomez is set to be rewarded for his excellent start to the season with a new contract.

According to Times correspondent Paul Joyce, the Reds have entered discussions with Gomez over a new deal.

The youngster’s current contract runs out in 2022, but it seems the club is happy to extend it even further and reward his fantastic form with a better deal.

This should perhaps come as no surprise, as the 21-year-old has gone from fringe player to sure starter this season, forming a formidable partnership with Virgil van Dijk.

Gomez now has more competition for the spot with Dejan Lovren back in the fold, but the English international is showing signs of becoming a real superstar alongside Liverpool’s Dutch colossus.

The youngster’s speed, strength, versatility and ability on the ball could make him the absolute perfect centre-back as he continues to develop, and fans are loving this latest update.
